History and Milestones

In 2015, Amsterdam Institute of Finance entered its 25th anniversary year. Established as a foundation in 1990 by the united financial community, AIF's goal was, and continues to be, to provide rigorous, high-level financial training for professionals. The first executive traning programs were offered by AIF in 1991.

AIF received financial support for the first three years of its life.  We operate today, as we have since 1994, as a not-for-profit and self-supporting foundation.  AIF relies only on the quality of its product and not on corporate or governmental support.

This independent status allows us to select the best possible faculty for its programs, regardless of their institutional or academic affiliations.  It also allows AIF to ensure the quality of our programs and put the needs of clients first.

Amsterdam is the site of the world's oldest stock exchange, with public corporations originating in Amsterdam through the sale of shares of the United East India Company in 1602. Amsterdam Institute of Finance continues this tradition of financial innovation today.
