HISTORY
Amsterdam is the site of the world's oldest stock exchange, with public corporations originating in Amsterdam through the sale of shares of the United East India Company in 1602. Amsterdam Institute of Finance continues this tradition of financial innovation today.
Amsterdam Institute of Finance (AIF) was established in 1990 as an initiative of the Dutch financial community and government officials. AIF's goal today, as it was then, is to provide an independent high-level financial training institute for financial specialists and top managers.
AIF has maintained its independent status and operates as a not-for-profit and self-supporting foundation. AIF relies only on the quality of its programs and not on corporate or governmental support.
This independent status also allows AIF to select the best possible faculty for its programs, regardless of their institutional or academic affiliations. |
