Private Equity Laid Bare
BrainBite Evening Lecture: 15 November 2017
Everything you always wanted to know about private equity but were afraid to ask! Join us for this session of BrainBites and take a deep dive into one of today's hottest industries.
In this BrainBite, Ludovic Phalippou will talk about his new myth debunking book 'Private Equity Laid Bare'. The audience will get an insider's view - from an outsider - into a secretive industry. Ludovic believes in making things as simple as possible and boiling everything down to the essence - he will use simplified examples and real-life situations to explain the jargon and mechanics of private equity.
Ludovic Phalippou is Associate Professor of Finance at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. He focuses on the areas of private equity that are of interest to (potential) investors, such as risk management, liquidity and measurement of returns.
Ludovic has worked with a number of large institutional
investors on their PE investment decisions (e.g. Norway $800
billion sovereign wealth fund, APG $400 billion Dutch pension fund,
PGGM $200 billion Dutch pension fund). In 2016, the European PE
magazine Real Deals listed him among the 20 most influential people
in the private equity industry.
